Field trials in commercial citrus groves validated the use of an unnatural blend of sex pheromone for mating disruption for citrus leafminer. SPLAT™ (ISCA Technologies, Riverside, CA) containing 0.15% (Z,Z,E)-7,11,13-hexadecatrienal was applied to 3.5 ha plots by a tractor-mounted applicator designed and contructed by International Fly Masters, Inc. (Ft. Pierce, FL) at 247 and 494 g/ha. The decay function of the trap disruption curve and results of trapping transects across the border of treated and untreated plots will be presented and discussed.
