Sulfoxaflor is the first member of the novel sulfoximine class of insecticides to be developed for pest management. It controls insects via a unique interaction with the insect nicotinic acetylcholine receptor and has a broad lack of cross-resistance to other insecticides. Field trials have demonstrated activity on many sap-feeding insects in citrus such as aphids, scales, mealy bugs, and Asian citrus psyllid. Results of key field studies conducted in citrus, across the US will be discussed.
