Phylogenetically relevant characters of Crambidae (Lepidoptera)

The distribution of significant morphological and behavioral characters among pyraustine-like Crambidae is reviewed, and their importance for the diagnosis of traditional subfamilies is put to the phylogenetic test. The relationships of certain unusual taxa are critically examined.
