Eucalyptus longhorn borer, Phoracantha recurva, is an invasive pest of Eucalyptus trees. In the United States, this pest is not controlled by the egg parsitoid that controls P. semipunctata. Trial was established in a Eucalpytus grove in central CA to detemine if spring injections of emamectin benzoate and imidacloprid would control larval development over a two year period. After the first year, emamectin benzoate and imidacloprid were effective in reducing or eliminating larval development and pupation. Reduction in ambrosia beetle was also observed in treated trees.
