Indentification of plant volatiles and their affect on the behavior of the lesser chestnut weevil, Curculio sayi (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)

Identification of the plant volatiles associated with the various chestnut tree tissues (including leaves, stems, flowers, burs and nuts) was assessed using GC-MS equipment. The behavioral response of the lesser chestnut weevil, Curculio sayi, to these tissues was also analyzed through the use of a Y-tube olfactometer.
