Adam Silagyi, adam.j.silagyi@aphis.usda.gov, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Plant Industry, 1911 SW 34 Street, Gainesville, FL and Julieta Brambila, Julieta.Brambila@aphis.usda.gov, USDA-APHIS-PPQ, 1911 SW 34 Street, Gainesville, FL.

Early detection of exotic plant pests is the primary goal of the CAPS program. This program serves the public and private sectors by documenting and improving available information on exotic plant diseases, insects, mites, nematodes, mollusks and weeds. In the interest of protecting agricultural and natural plant resources in the United States, the CAPS network promotes communication among pest-detection organizations.
