Attraction of non-target flies (Diptera) to volatile attractants

Various plant-derived volatile chemicals attract phytophagous insects, but may also attract their natural enemies.  A screening of such volatile compounds for attraction to natural enemies also attracted species of non-target flies.  The response of various fly species to particular compounds is described herein.
