Melon thrips, Thrips palmi Karny, is an invasive pest of various vegetable crops in the South Florida. It has developed resistance to almost all commonly used old insecticides. In the present study, various neonicotinoid and diamide insecticides have been tested to control melon thrips. Spinetoram, Tolfenpyrad, belay and cyazypyr provide supression of this pest. Combination of spinetoram and tolfenpyrad provides better supression of melon thrips than any of these products applied alone.
