Species of the genus Trissolcus (Platygastroidea: Telenominae) primarily attack the eggs of stink bugs. Multiple species that attack the eggs of the invasive brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) are currently under study by the Agricultural Research Service (USDA) as potential biological agents. Here the taxonomy and ongoing revision of the Asian species of Trissolcus, and its importance for proper identification in biological control programs, is discussed.
