The natural history of a previously unidentified species of Dohrniphora (Diptera:Phoridae) with notes on development and life history is, here, presented. This fly has remained mostly unidentified for decades due to marked sexual dimorphism and meager research within the genus. Until recently, no information was available to facilitate its recognition; however, newly published keys for the males of the genus have allowed for the identification of the female. This species has been identified as a regular carrion-breeding fly in southeast Texas, but little more is known of its lifestyle outside of a laboratory setting. Information like this may aid in the ever-growing bank of knowledge for a wildly diverse group of cosmopolitan flies, the Phoridae.
