1487 Responding to unusual survival occurrences by Helicoverpa zea in Bollgard II cotton: 2010-2011 field season activities
Wednesday, November 16, 2011: 10:11 AM
Room A17, First Floor (Reno-Sparks Convention Center)
Extremely high population densities of Helicoverpa zea (CBW) in cotton in certain US regions in 2010 led to unusual survival occurences of CBW in Bollgard II cotton. Plans were put in place to enable rapid responses to similar occurences, if presented in 2011, to allow careful assessment of population susceptibility to the Cry protein components of Bollgard II (Cry1Ac and Cry2Ab). This presentation will review these plans, their implementation, and results.
