1198 Biological control of water hyacinth with Megamelus scuttelaris (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) in Louisiana

The common water hyacinth is an invasive aquatic weed causing major problems in Louisiana wetlands. Megamelus scuttelaris is a potential biological control agent of water hyacinth that is in the process of being released in Louisiana. This paper presents the first year of research from colony establishment to field releases.
