The family Neriidae (Diptera) is a seldom-studied group of acalypterate flies that specializes in consuming decaying vegetation, such as fruits and cacti. Approximately 20 genera and 110 species have been described worldwide. Only two genera are present in the Nearctic region: Odontoloxus Enderlein and Glyphidops Enderlein, with the former having both immature and adult morphologies described. The latter genus, however, has only been described as an adult very few times, whereas the immature stages of Glyphidops have never been described. The goal of this research is to provide a basic description of Glyphidops flavifrons puparia in order to give insight to 3rd instar larval morphology, as well as determine if sexual variance is present. This description will also act as a comparison to larval and pupal descriptions of the more common Odontoloxozus longicornis.
