My current research comprises a revision of the genus Arenivaga (Rehn), Polyphagidae: Polyphaginae. This genus currently contains nine described species and occurs throughout the American southwest, Florida, and Mexico. This paper reports on the new species and genera that have come to light from my work thus far. Range extensions for the genus as well as for each species are provided and a preliminary hypothesis for the phylogeny of the genus is offered. Finally, I relate new behavioral and natural history observations made of live specimens in a laboratory setting and discuss ongoing research.
