In 2011, the development of a gray and dark literature ingest hub, as well as the digitization of diverse documents pertaining to pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella) was undertaken. As a result of this undertaking, the Pink bollworm INfomration Consortium (PINC) was created in order to insure accessibility and storage of the digital material. The following paper describes the use of PINC as a Virtual Research Environment (VRE) for pink bollworm.
