The taxonomy of Reticulitermes has been a work-in-progress for hundreds of years. Presented here is the first key to the Reticulitermes species found in Georgia, incorporating morphological, biological and molecular data. This key is the first to include two species that are absent in older keys. This new matrix-format key utilizes traditional diagnostic characters as well as other simplistic characters that are more flexible and easy to apply. The key will be available online, ensuring broad and instantaneous access. The result is a more available, flexible, efficient and effective taxonomic tool for the diverse user group that is interested in termite taxonomy.
