Tiger beetles are abundant predators in managed turfgrass ecosystems. Their potential as predators against common turfgrass pests is not well defined. A series of laboratory and field experiments better documented the potential impact of tiger beetles on fall armyworms and Japanese beetles. Turf taxa was found to influence predation by Megacephala carolina.
