Production of high quality integrated pest management information and its effective dissemination are critical in a campaign for IPM practices adoption by growers. Traditionally, lectures, printed materials, radio and TV sessions are the main avenues through which pest management information is broadcasted. The ever faster adoption of the internet as a way to communicate, provide and gather information has opened another possible channel through which IPM information can be packaged and accessed. The Northern Plains online IPM guide is the result of a collaborative effort of entomologists and plant pathologists from North Dakota State University, South Dakota State University, University of Nebraska, Kansas State University, University of Minnesota and Iowa State University to disseminate regional IPM information through the internet. Features provided within the guideline are described and its potentials and challenges in improving regional IPM practices adoption are discussed.
