The Caribbean genus Stoiba Spaeth 1909 is revised and a morphological phylogenetic analysis of 13 species is carried out. The character matrix comprises nine Stoiba species and five species representing other Stolaini, Physonotini, and Hemisphaerotini as outgroups. Phylogenetic analysis revealed Stoiba to be monophyletic by the moderately convex profile, quadrate claw tooth, slight convex ventrites, and broad and medially flat metasternum. An illustrated key to 11 species of Stoiba is provided along with distribution maps. A new species of Elytrogona is described. Morphological evolution, particularly wing reduction and flightlessness, is discussed.
