Involving all pertinent stakeholders is essential to any true IPM effort. Individuals not traditionally involved in pest control need to be involved to address conditions conducive to pest problems and report issues promptly. This symposium will cover IPM systems that have been successful due to effective partnerships between diverse stakeholders. Representatives will speak about their experiences in school IPM, affordable housing, health care, commercial service, and residential service.
Attendees of this symposium will leave knowing: I. Why a contracted pest management professional alone is not enough to sustainably keep structural pests below the tolerance thresholds; II. solutions for specific groups of people who require support found outside of the expertise of an entomologist; and III. examples of IPM systems where partnerships were responsible for success.
