An education abroad program designed for undergraduate students to study and conduct research in a developing country has been offered for 5 years. The two-semester course included studies of the history, economy, and culture of Mali, West Africa. Students participating in the course develop a project that includes data collection in Mali and research work at Virginia Tech. Upon completion of their projects, the students are required to share their experiences with other undergraduates at Virginia Tech through class presentations.
