The tribe Archiborborini is a diverse group of Neotropical Sphaeroceridae (Diptera), containing approximately 30 described species and at least 70 undescribed species. There are currently 4 accepted genera in the tribe (Antrops, Archiborborus, Frutillaria, and Penola). We present the first phylogeny for the tribe based on morphological characters, and revise the generic classification. We also review the tribe’s position within the family Sphaeroceridae, and the family-level classification of the superfamily Sphaeroceroidea.
