Sterile Insect Technique on the Mexican fruit fly (Anastrepha ludens) in southern Texas

Since first detected in the 1920,s, the Mexican fruit fly has become a major pest of citrus in south Texas. Sterile Insect Technique is the primary control method in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. This presentation will provide some of the history and current control effort on the Mexican fruit fly.
