This presentation will review the screwworm program as an eradication program. The important components will be reviewed including inspection, quarantine, sterile insect transport and release, and surveillance of sterile insect distribution and target populations. Some comparison with other sterile insect programs, especially fruit flies, will be made. The use of predictive models for analysis of pest population response will be reviewed using age structured matrix models. Recent program data from Jamaica and Columbia as well as historical data from Mexico and Central America will be discussed to illustrate program function
