Ichneutine wasps have received little attention, despite their hypothesized placement at the base of an economically and biologically important clade, the microgastroids. This study combines previous hypotheses based on morphological analysis with newly described taxa and molecular evidence from multiple genes to examine the phylogenetic relationships of the Ichneutinae. Systematic questions such as the direction of host switching, character evolution, and the generic and tribal classification are discussed.
