There is considerable anecdotal evidence that botanical smokes may play a role in IPM of varroa mites in honey bee colonies. During 2007 and 2008 we tested a number of botanical materials for their effectiveness in knocking varroa off bees in managed colonies of honey bees in Arkansas.
