The genera of the beetle family Phalacridae are revised for the world, and a total of 30 genera are recognized as valid. Nineteen generic names will become junior synonyms, one genus is removed from Phalacridae, and one new genus is recognized. The status of four generic names is unknown. All genera studied are assigned to one of two traditionally recognized subfamilies, Phalacrinae and Phaenocephalinae, pending a phylogenetic analysis.
