Disputes about species identification of termites from the southeastern United States persist, despite many efforts by the scientific community to address the situation and provide clear diagnostic characters for taxonomic purposes. Soldier caste specimens of Reticulitermes species were sampled from four locations in Athens, Georgia, and four locations on Sapelo Island, Georgia. An analysis of the head capsules was conducted to examine how the currently recognized species differ morphometrically.
