A roving survey conducted to assess the damage of Red palm weevil in the four major coconut growing districts of Andhra Pradesh revealed that East Godavari district was as the hot spot area for the pest. Root feeding with Azadirachtin 5% WSC also proved superior and could able to prevent the further damage and spread of Red Palm Weevil and found as a good bio substitute for synthetic monocrotophos 36% SL through root feeding against Red Palm Weevil. Aggregation pheromone lures deployed in various gardens checked the damage of Red palm weevil. A viable ecofriendly IPM was suggested.
