More than 20 genera and 30 species of Naucoridae (Heteroptera: Gerromorpha) were used to evaluate intrafamilial phylogenetic relationships. Specifically, nuclear genes, including 28s, and mitochondrial genes, including COI, were extracted, amplified using PCR, purified, and sequenced. The resulting phylogenetic tree depicts likely evolutionary relationships among currently recognized genera and subfamilies. Further analyses will include additional taxa and also morphological attributes.
