Little is know about the aquatic fauna of coastal Alabama. Twenty-seven streams were sampled for benthic insects during the early spring and summer of 2007 using kick nets. In addition are variety of stream variables (e.g., water chemistry, channel parameters) were measured at the time of collection. Results are present on both the species assemblages presented as will as the nature of the community. In particular we examine if species assemblages were repeatable across sites or represent random assortments of species.

Species 1: Odonata Aeshnidae Boyeria spp (dragonflies)
Species 2: Coleoptera Elmidae Gonielmis spp (riffle beetles)
Species 3: Coleoptera Elmidae Ancyronx spp (riffle beetles)
