Some members of the braconid subfamily Homolobinae have modified ovipositors for parasitizing Lepidoptera hosts. These morphological features are described and potential explanations of their functions are proposed. This may provide a novel insight into how koinobiont endoparasitoid braconids oviposit within exposed Lepidoptera.
