As yet, there is no phylogeny for spittlebugs (Hemiptera: Cercopoidea), despite the biological and worldwide agricultural importance of this insect group. Even the identity and monophyly of the included family-group lineages are contentious. This presentation will include the latest results of a large-scale (many taxa, multiple gene regions), on-going phylogenetic investigation into this diverse insect superfamily.
