Species composition of the stink bug complex in cotton and soybean in Virginia is unknown. Twenty cotton fields in nine counties (2005) and 21 soybean fields in eleven counties (2005 and 2006) were surveyed throughout the growing seasons using a 38-cm diameter sweep net (25 sweeps/sample) and beat sheet (2 row-m/sample). Samples were taken randomly in a standard Z-shaped pattern to cover the entire field. Stink bugs were collected and identified to species. More stink bugs were caught in soybean than cotton for all species recorded. In cotton, beat sheets were more effective than sweep nets in sampling Euschistus servus (Say). Both techniques were equally effective in sampling Acrosternum hilare (Say). In soybean, sweep net samples were more effective than beat sheets for sampling E. servus and A. hilare. Standard 15-watt blacklight traps were evaluated for usefulness in monitoring stink bug activity at nine locations. A mid-June peak in A. hilare capture from eight blacklight traps corresponded to a 14-year peak capture from a single location. A single factor repeated measures ANOVA with location as the factor was used to compare trap catch for each stink bug species among the nine locations. Degree days based on developmental temperature thresholds for each species (x- variable) were regressed on blacklight trap catch (y-variable). In the end, degree days may be used to predict blacklight catches, which in turn could be used to predict, at least the level of risk, to stink bug infestation in the field for each of the target crops.

i am currently doing a research on the following topic "the use of catch crops as an alternative ecological solution for stink bugs in macadamia orchards".
so can you please send me some facts about the related topic.
it will be my plesure to have your assisstance.
