We examined the effects of three fertility levels (30, 75 and 150 ppm N), under drought-stressed and well-watered conditions, on the growth, photosynthesis and secondary metabolism of the hybrid poplar clone NC5271 (Populus nigra). We also quantified the effects of resource availability on the expression of constitutive and rapid induced resistance (RIR) of poplar to gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar) and whitemarked tussock moth (Orgyia leucostigma).
Species 1: Lepidoptera Lymantriidae Lymantria dispar (gypsy moth)
Species 2: Lepidoptera Lymantriidae Orgyia leucostigma (whitemarked tussock moth)
Keywords: resource availability
