Aphid transmitted viral diseases are a major concern of cucurbit producers in South Georgia. Common production practices for summer/fall cucurbits include use of admire at planting, followed by scheduled folair applications of oils and oil-insecticide combinations. We conducted a small plot field trial in the fall of 2002 to evaluate the impacts of each of these components in control of aphids and supression of viral diseases in squash in South Georgia. Results will be presented and discussed.
Species 1: Homoptera Aphididae Aphis gossypii (melon aphid, cotton aphid)
Species 2: Homoptera Aphididae Macrosiphum euphorbiae (potato aphid)
Keywords: disease supression
