Michigan grows a diverse number of vine crops including pumpkins, zucchini, and summer and winter squash. Every year aphids vector a number of viruses to vine crops resulting in reduced yields and misshapen fruit. Water-pan traps were used to sample aphids in a vine crop fields to determine if changes in production practices including trellising, colored mulches, and cover crops impacted aphid vector landing rates and virus incidence.
