A field experiment was conducted on sweet pepper in order to estimate aphids and natural enemies (NE) abundance through catches on yellow sticky traps. Also, the importance of trap orientation was assessed. Catches were evaluated weekly and traps were replaced. Aphids and NE density were determined weekly in the field by visual searches. Orientation of yellow sticky traps had no effect on number of aphids captured. Aphid density increased steadily, peaking at of the end of the growing season, as did natural enemies. The correlation between accumulated aphid captured on traps and aphid density on plants was strong, but not for natural enemies.
