Invertebrate diversity in little fire ant (LFA), Wasmannia auropunctata, infestations in Costa Rica and in the recently infested Micronesian island of Guam

Invertebrates were extracted from sifted leaf litter samples collected from LFA infested areas of primary and secondary forest in a mid-elevation forest reserve at the Las Cruces Biological Station in southern Costa Rica, and from forested areas newly infested by little fire ant on the Micronesian island of Guam in the Mariana Islands.  Collections were also made from forest sites not infested by little fire ant on Guam, Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.  Organisms were identified to morpho-species and comparisons made between collection sites in Costa Rica and sites with and without little fire ant in the Mariana Islands.
