This interactive session will demonstrate the use of new tools to mitigate the spread of invasive scarabs. We will highlight "Hawaiian Scarab ID" (on-line key and mobile app) and provide hands-on training for screening and identification scarab beetle adults and larvae.  Also included are tools for identification of beneficial dung scarabs that assist in cattle ranching. You can find the on-line ID tool here: idtools.org/id/beetles/scarab/. Download the mobile app for Android or iPhone on iTunes or GooglePlay (search for "Hawaiian Scarab ID").  The tool has broad application to users in Hawaii, Guam, the Pacific, and the US mainland and is targeted at a broad range of participants including port identifiers, citizen scientists, horticulturists, and agriculturalists.
