Population monitoring is the backbone of most insect management programs.  However, accurate and precise data collection can be very tricky.  Standardization of sampling techniques, limited resources, environmental stochasticity, and monetary interests are but a few of the issues that stand between a scout and a useful measurement.  As effective pest suppression becomes increasingly important, how do we address these issues?
