We illustrate the use of a new on-line tool - Explorer of Taxon Concepts (http://etc.cs.umb.edu/etcsite/start.html) - to build a weevil phenotype anatomy ontology "from the bottom up", i.e., based on specific and published circumscriptions of weevil taxa.
