Frankliniella bispinosa Morgan is considered an early season key pest in southern highbush blueberry production in Florida. With the emergence of other mid and late season pests, it has become more important to reduce the damaging effects of this thrips species. Experiments were conducted at a commercial farm in Marion Co. Florida in 2014 using two commonly planted varieties (Star and Emerald). The establishment of the economic injury level (EIL) will aid growers in the decision making process in managing thrips using IPM (Integrated Pest Management) tactics.
