The Hydrobiosidae consists of 52 genera and 410 species, distributed in the Australasian, Nearctic (southwest USA), Neotropical, Oriental, and Palearctic (East Asia) regions. Twenty-two genera are known from the Neotropics, and the genus Atopsyche is, with 126 species, by far the largest. Atopsyche is divided in three subgenera, and a group of species of uncertain placement. The subgenus Dolochorema is the smallest, with only three species from Bolivia and Peru. Herein we present two new species within the subgenus from northern and central Peru. The first species does not resemble any of the other species in the subgenus, and presents a densely spiniferous lobe on the dorsoapical portion of the inferior appendages, and elongated and flattened paracercus. The second species is related to A. irregularis, but differs in the shape of the inferior appendages in lateral and ventral view as well as details in the paracercus and aedeagus.
