Survival rates of white ash (Fraxinus americana) exceeded 50% in the core areas of the emerald ash borer (EAB) (Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) invasion, despite several years of EAB presence. Identification of the site and stand conditions associated with this unexpectedly high rate of survival could be vital in projecting the condition of white ash in more recently invaded regions.
