Fluid baits containing α-cellulose impregnated with 0.5% hexaflumuron and 1% methylcel solution as liquid carrier were injected into foraging galleries of field colonies of the Formosan subterranean termite for efficacy evaluation in colony elimination.  Three trees and three houses infested with C. formosanus were selected for field trials, and another three infested trees were used as the control that received untreated fluid baits.  Of the six infestations, four were eliminated after receiving one to two bait applications, but multiple applications were needed to eliminate colonies at two sites, possibly due to re-invasions of nearby colonies.
