The subgenus Acledra (Neoacledra) Faúndez 2010 was erected to contain a single species, Acledra (Neoacledra) haematopus (Spinola, 1852), which is distributed in the central-south zone of Chile. The examination of new material (about 50 specimens) extends the southern distribution of this taxon to Los Ríos Region, and has allowed the discovery of an undescribed species and a new subspecies of A. (N.) haematopus. Both of which inhabit the Valdivian forest in south Chile. In light of the new information, the taxonomic status of Neoacledra has been re-evaluated. It is now our belief that Neoacledra deserves full generic status, and it is probably closely related to Acledra Signoret, 1864 and Mormidea Amyot & Serville, 1843.
