Local non-target arthropod (NTA) field evaluations are commonly required for cultivation approvals of Bt and other biotechnology-derived crops often times without consideration for data that have been generated previously in other geographies. The concept of data transportability maintains that data, with proper justification, can be leveraged across geographies resulting in reduced duplication of effort and cost. This effort examined existing NTA field data collected across regions and found considerable similarity in arthropod taxa across regions which indicates that findings from one geography are relevant, and thus transportable, to other geographies.
