A study comparing the fauna attracted to an exposed fetal pig (Sus scrofa) versus a concealed pig (i.e. odor only) was conducted in an effort to further elucidate the mechanisms of host-finding within the pre-colonization period for forensically-significant insects. Both insect abundance and insect species composition were assessed.
