Numbers of mosquitoes (primarily Culex tarsalis, Cx. pipiens, and Anopheles freeborni) captured hourly using a programmable trap baited with carbon dioxide were compared with environmental data including temperature, humidity, and light. Environmental variables were evaluated statistically and used to model of mosquito activity. The efficacy of adult mosquito control measures such as ultra-low volume application of pyrethroid insecticides can be improved by identifying periods of greatest mosquito activity.
